Literary Writers

Authors Every written work will always have a source that makes a composition. As authors are referred to different groups and categories, the same way we have different areas of writings. Different types of writers is grouped into two: non-fiction writers, who write about real life occurrences, that is, history, autobiography, and biographies or a documentary about a true-life occurrence and fiction writers, who write about fantasies and imaginations. Fiction writers can base their examples in real life happenings and they may even appear to be real. Consider the sinking of the Titanic or the civil wars that are happening in many places many authors have written about those events involving the readers emotionally. A good example of non-fiction authors is medical doctors who write medical books or scientists who write to give additional information about a particular animal or geographical situation. This kind of work entails lot of research and commitment. Besides, these projects consume lot of time (Volgler 134). Nonetheless, we have authors who do both non-fiction books and fiction books.

Poets Writing poetry is the speciality of a poet. A poem can be very literal or metaphorical. Meaning, a poet can write about something out of a particular event in a straightforward manner or in a way, where he uses symbolisms and abstract meanings. Poets usually write without regard for form or grammar. Poets have long existed in history in all languages that portray the cultures of the certain historical periods. There are various styles that poets employ depending on the course of literary time. When one writes a poem, he does not intend to sell it for profit, but uses it to express his thoughts, artistic abilities, and emotions. Only in those cases when publishers buy poems or when poets are paid for their poems to be read publicly, they can get remunerations from their work.  Poets are usually classified according to the time: renaissance, classic, modern, among others; by the styles: sonnets, lyrics, odes, and many more, or by types: romantic, narrative, etc.

Playwrights A playwright is a person who writes plays and dramas that are intended for stage presentation. The spelling of “wright” instead of “write” is an old English term, which means to build. Thus, playwrights are builders of words. They are writers who specialize in writing full-length plays ( made up of acts and scenes) and are also about different topics.essay about myself Several of those types of writers write pen short plays, which usually run for an hour. an one-act play runs for less than an hour. These types of plays are usually shown during festivals and play contests. Present day playwrights are really a combination of different styles besides making use of modern plots. They need to be in competition with audience share who like watching movies and television. Since the invention of computers, more people have accepted the new technology in the expense of plays. Thus, the popularity of plays has dwindled in the last few decades (Weber 99). Nevertheless, we have playwrights who continue to write dramas and plays for stage performances where some are adaptations from famous novels and movies.

The trainers for the leadership development and training program are presented by both employees of Maersk Group and people not working in the company. On the one hand, this will bring values and understandings of the Moller & Maersk processes. On the other hand, it will provide wider practices and methodologies of leadership skills applied outside the company. Trainers should have wide knowledge concerning development leadership skills and interpersonal communication. They should have a practical experience of more than 5 years on leadership position in order to provide grounded and valuable examples of successful implementation of their studies in the real life. These people also needs considerable knowledge in psychology. They should provide diversified and creative methods and techniques of obtaining leadership positions in the company. Trainers also should direct trainees on how effectively and efficiently improve their knowledge individually as time goes on (by reading specialized literature, taking part in trainings, analyzing the experience of other companies).

The whole program will take 4 months and will be performed for 5 consequential days each month. This schedule will allow providing vast and extensive knowledge; implementing this knowledge into the working process; evaluating obtained outcomes and working on trainees’ mistakes.

The draft lesson plan is the following: presentation of a story containing communicative issue; asking each trainee about his or her possible response on this issue; describing different types of methodologies of solving of the communication issue with their positive and negative sides; discussion with trainees of the most suitable methodologies or their combination for this particular issue; fastening the lesson by a short conclusion; giving personal tasks to each trainee (trainees receive different communication issue scenarios and should determine the most truly effective methodologies of their solving) and providing additional material for self-studying. The last phase is very important, because it provides improvement of leadership skills far after completion of the training program. Sabine Vollmer stated the following: “the most effective skill development programmers encourage employees to keep learning; offer them tools, methods, and standard procedures” (Vollmer, 2015).

Different training methods are used in the leadership development and training program: presentation method (lectures, the web sites), hands-on method (simulation, on-job trainings), group-building method (group discussions and team trainings) and others. The presentation method allows analyzing real life situations and comparing different methodologies. The hands-on approach gives an understanding of how trained skills is applied to the working process. It has such advantages as immediate feedback on performance, swift remediation if task is not performed to standard (Study.com.n.d.). These people have not only practical experience and deep understanding of working processes in other companies. They have an experience of building relationship and communication with wider amount of people with different characters and visions.

The program will contain such instructional methods as deep approach method (understanding of personal ideas and application of this understanding in the working process); brainstorm ( development of an ability to find quickly the most truly effective how to solve the problem); modeling of communication issues; role playing; case studies and other techniques. (Connors, 2011). Also, some on-the-job training methods are used: coaching, mentoring ( development of attitude) and understudies of leaders of departments. These approaches will enable trainees to observe leaders’ behavior in real life situations and imitate this conduct (Chand, n.d.). The job instruction method also will be used. It is described by Smriti Chand as follows: “the trainees are presented the learning material in written or by learning machines through a series called ‘frames” (Chand, n.d.). This methodology provides the overview of future leading position, desired results and necessary skills for obtaining and being successful on this positon. The leadership development training program will contain such classroom instructions as lectures; telling stories from real-life experience of trainers; and group discussions of leadership issues. Some audiovisual media also are used. Lectures will be supported by videos depicting different communicational techniques. Computers are used for performing tests and evaluation of trainees’ knowledge. All the material will be provided in form of electronic books. This method of computer based training enables people to study the material as long as they want and to repeat it at any time (Cushard, 2013).

They will observe any changes in behavior of trainees, and how these changes affect working process. After 4 week trainings all the results (tests, analyses of head of departments and outcomes of trainers) are collected and thoroughly analyzed for determination of the most successful employees. Food Preparation and Consumption

probably one of the most basic explorations of food influence on people involves a close consideration of the social relationships connected to power and authority between men and women revealed through food production and consumption; that is, who cooks? Who serves? And who eats? Answers to these three questions reveal the dimensions of inequality between people as dictated by the culture of food. Barriers of national or ethnic identity and social class are demonstrated by the different preferences of flavor, aroma, and texture among other features of food preparation, identified as measures of security and wealth (Leslie 4). Such preferences appeal to the brain, therefore, placing people with similar preferences together.

Similarly, the contradictory sets of table-manners expectations also display economic divisions between partakers who seem indistinguishable. For instance, in a decent restaurant, people who eat, mostly men, expect a little respect from the servers who are mostly women, including the jovial egalitarianism of nice-day wishes, provision of serviettes and tablecloths as well as wine lists. Besides, restaurant diners expect incredible competence from the cooks. However, this situation changes when the same affluent individuals serve up meals at their homes; it is upon them to select the ingredients, methods of preparation, while the fashionable strategies to serve. These strategies accord them their social status in the eyes of their guests (Leslie 5).

Possibly, even more than the ethnic and national or class markers of identity, food is also associated with gender. In most professional kitchens, men are considered the most capable chefs, whereas women are regarded as mere cooks. This philosophy changes back at home, where women take the responsibility of both cooking and serving their husbands and children whose direct relationship with food is just eating it. Despite the single immediate relationship of men and children with food at home, they are still bound within the culture of food.

The power of the mother, here regarded as the cook, as an older, larger, and gifted authority is very real. Nevertheless, it is conditional bearing in mind the context of the husband, also regarded as a father and provider, who sits down and waits to be served. Scholars have established that men who take the responsibility of cooking in their homes do not accept the responsibility as a morally upright activity as compared to women with the same responsibilities in their households. This state of affairs shows that there exists a gendered culture in the culture of food: although it is women’s duty to cook and serve, there is an immediate relationship with food to all the family members, despite the fact that men only wait to be served (Goldblatt and Lau 101).

Hidden Life Recipes in Food

Many symbolisms that saturate the Chinese food culture did not only influence the historical Chinese but exists to date, as well. Food appeals to the functioning of the human senses. a reflection at the Chinese history shows that most advisers, ministers, rulers, and emperor counselors began their careers as either butchers or cooks. Cooking, feeding, eating, banqueting, and dining were jointly used as a criterion of selecting good and moral political leaders in the traditional China. Butchers, stewards, and cooks exhibited some unique skills that directly linked to the art of leadership. For instance, the capacity to combine different ingredients in their respective proportions without one ingredient overpowering the other symbolized the virtue of harmony. Similarly, chopping meat into equal pieces or controlling alcohol consumption during rituals and banquets demonstrated propriety, order, and self-control (University of Cambridge 3).

Confucius, China’s most recognized thinker, stated that a morally upright person should not crave for overfeeding. He purportedly found pleasure in plain water and coarse food, never spoke while eating, and never ate to the full in the presence of someone mourning. Additionally, it is said that the Chinese sagacious would go through an entire day of ritual drinking but without getting drunk. These features, perhaps, made Confucius one among the most outstanding thinkers in the global history. Many Chinese believe that borrowing a leaf from him would, similarly, enable one achieve as he achieved (University of Cambridge 5).

It was also believed that food influenced people’s moral character, including the unborn. a mother was believed to have power to ‘instruct’ the fetus through consumption of properly cut food from well-balanced dishes. Emperors and rulers were expected to regulate their food intake depending on the day circumstances. Such regulations would include economizing the amount of meals served at court during famine and switching to vegetables during droughts and famine. Food was used in ancient China to affirm the respective political hierarchies among the guests at a high table in Cambridge Colleges. Such distinctions would be determined by the number of dishes allocated, seating arrangements as well as the food vessels, cups, and utensils used during a meal. In addition, banquets were avenues where political matters and military honor would be resettled. Drinking parties would be prepared as a strategy to trick, eliminate, or humiliate political rivals (University of Cambridge 10).

Women and Food

Women and food are most noticeably associated with the structure of gender, revolution, and materiality in most Chinese contemporary writings. Food shortage, featuring its hideous impacts in the national economics, eugenics, and politics, has been demonstrated in China’s pursuit for modernization. However, when food shortage is considered in literary terms, it manifests itself in diverse typologies, ranging from drought caused by nature to revolution starvations dictated by the ideology.

Many Chinese writers perceive famine as not only an agricultural crisis, but also as a focus on the minds of modern thinkers who campaign for social welfare, particularly in politics. Additionally, national hunger is identified in feminine terms, perhaps, referring to women’s somatic susceptibility during the man-made and natural food crises or to their old-fashioned duty in the victimology semiotics. Hunger is an outstanding theme in the contemporary Chinese writing, with women recurrently being portrayed due to the fact protagonists (Wang 2).

The works of Lu Xun are really a viable example to affirm this proposition. In her short story, “The New Year’s Sacrifice,” a remarkable moment is highlighted when the narrator meets the doomed Luzhen, wife of Xianglin. Luzhen has been living as a beggar because of the snub of her townsfolk. When she meets the narrator, the ill-fated woman does not request for food. Instead, she begs for an answer to a nagging question: “After a person dies, does he seek out a ghost or not?” Caught off guard, the narrator only mumbles, “I am not sure” (Lu Xun 13).

During such a celebration, marked by plenty of wining and dining, Luzhen impresses the narrator with her hunger for something else other than food.
